NCW Victoria will launch the book of “Change makers – Young women networking and learning” at Graduate House on Thursday 3 December.
“Change makers”: Young women in Victoria are completing professional courses in record numbers but are taking their first steps on career paths in a very different world. Find their first professional position straight after graduation seems to be exception rather than the rule. A period of volunteering and freelancing after graduation is not unusual.
NCW Victoria and its linked organizations are helping young women making the transition to professional employment by providing mentoring and networking opportunities. Some are able to find placements as interns with NGOs or member-based civil society organizations with up to 200 hours of supervised work. The organizations in turn benefit from the enthusiasm, insights and tech-savvy skills of the young.
